Seafood Cooking Class

Spice up your life and put some variety into your cooking! This class gives you the opportunity to be creative and eat the results! Each class is themed and the variety of classes is astounding. Cuisine from Spain, Italy, Venice, Morocco, Mexico and France...from Croatia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Caribbean...from Pacific Rim to Kai Moana and Party Food classes, BBQ classes and Sushi classes - not to mention favourite secret recipes from top restaurateurs - quite simply there is something for everyone. Unlike many other cooking schools these classes offer hands-on experience. After watching a 45 minute demonstration in the auditorium kitchen by your guest chef you will go through to the 'hands on' kitchen and prepare the recipes yourself, with special guidance from the chef. At the end of the class you will dine on your own delicious creations.

With the flavours of lemon grass, lime, fish and soy sauce, Vietnamese cuisine combines the wonderful flavours of fresh seasonal seafood with the herbs and spices of this diversified country. Learn about the variety between the North, Central and Southern cuisines then join together in the hands-on room to recreate the dishes. A very distinct and specific taste - you will be surprised at the flavour combinations

Primi Piatti with Luca Villari

Friday night Italian fun with vivacious Italian chef Luca Villari. Join Luca to celebrate Primi Piatti (or first course). Having commenced work in the family restaurant at a young age and completing chef training in Auckland, Luca went on to work in restaurants in both Melbourne then back in New Zealand at the iconic Cin Cin on Quay. Co-owner of Eden Cloakroom (Mt Eden) and Post House (Ellerslie) plus food writer for Taste magazine, Luca is a talented entertainer presenting seafood meals with an Italian twist.

Full of high energy and interaction, Marco will share his knowledge of seafood species in tonight's class. He will showcase 3 seasonal species and discuss cooking options best suited to each species then present 2 recipes utilising the products available which you will then go on to cook and enjoy yourself.

Sushi and Tempura

Learn with Akira a master sushi chef and award winning restaurateur from Gion Restaurant in Parnell. He will teach you how to prepare traditional sushi rice and tamago (omelette), how to roll nori, and uramaki and to prepare the lightest and tastiest tempura with all the special trimmings that go with it.
