The river is set in mind blowing beautiful scenery and winds its way through the gorge gently at first - before unleashing its fury !
The rafting begins on a flat stretch of water, so you have time to learn safety procedures and how to work as a team. The river then builds in excitement with a variety of graded rapids including two Grade 5's - now that is awesome.
With your heart still pumping from the experience what better way to end the ride than by jumping off the 10m Jump Rock into the crystal clear calmer waters. A great end to an amazing day on an incredible river journey.

The Weather:
Trips are subject to weather and river conditions, especially in winter. It is always advisable to telephone the operator on the morning of your experience to confirm that the activity is taking place. All relevant contact details will be supplied to you on confirmation of your booking. In the event that your experience is cancelled, you will be able to liaise with the operator directly to arrange an alternative booking.

This experience is available From September to May only. We recommend you book at least 10 days in advance of your preferred date.
other:Grade 5 rapids - the Rangitata gorge maintains its grade 5 rapids even with low river levels. Not many other rivers can offer this. The rafting trip begins on grade 1 (flat water), ensuring something for everyone! Option to walk around the bigger grade 5 white water if preferred. No previous experience is necessary, although you do need to be of a reasonable standard of fitness.

What to wear:
You will need to bring swimwear to wear underneath your wetsuit, a towel, a spare pair of shoes to wear in the water and a warm jumper for afterwards. All other equipment is provided.
